The Rota Zovetta is a 5,107 ton steamship that sunk off St. David's Island, at the north-eastern end of Bermufa in 20 to 70 feet water. It was built in Scotland in 1919 and bought by Parodi and Accame of Genoa, Italy, and was given it's full name in 1921. Strong winds brought heavy seas, and most of the manganese ore cargo was off-loaded before the ship sank, and fortunately no lives were lost. Wrecked in 1924, as a result there is a large debrid field to explore. The stern is still intact and has swim-throughs for adventurous divers to negotiate. Photo by Eric Prescott.
