Bermuda Society: Statistical Information
- At the 2000 Census Bermuda’s population stood at 62,059 which represents a 6% increase since the 1991 Census. Bermudians comprise 71% of the total population.
- Blacks represent 55% of our population, whites 34%, mixed race 6%, Asian 2%. An additional 3% fell into the category of “other” while 268 people did not respond.
- Pembroke has the most inhabitants of any parish and St. George’s the least. Their populations stand at 5,358 and 1,394 respectively.
- Bermuda has many beautiful churches with most well-supported by devout parishioners. Twelve religious groups are listed in the 2000 Census, by attendance the following are the top five:
- Anglican–23%
- Roman Catholic–15%
- A.M.E–11%
- Seventh Day Adventist–7%
- Non-denominational–6%
